Stables & Carriages -

Once you have horses you need stable. If you have working horses you need to give them something to do -- thus they have a carriage rental program; complete with groom.

The stables and carriage house were refurbished and extensively added to as you can see below. There are living quarters above. There is also a training program for working with the horses with students rotating through.

One of the things that stands out is the care which is taken with every thing. First to be cared for are the people and the animals. Next are the buildings. Lastly are the grounds. Whatever can be saved and reused is including the manure.

The livery is also in full view - on all the cars and the carriages. Rather than being pretentious it gives a sense of cohesiveness and belonging.

There are carriages for every occassion - from 2 seaters to 16 seaters - from closed to open top - from low to high. Sorry for the photo quality - the lighting was lousy. There is even a special workshop for keeping the coaches in good repair. They are all historic vehicles and sometime arrive in bad shape.
